Most aneuploid pregnancies are unrecognized and cause early miscarriage. Aneuploidy exists across all ages and increases with maternal age. During this presentation we will give an overview of the clinical evidence of Preimplantation Genetic Screening and its impact on mitigating the effect of maternal age. In the second part we will present the VeriSeq PGS method, developed by Illumina and based on NGS that will help clinician to get accurate results in embryo aneuploidy screening.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how aneuploidy is a major cause in age-related decline in fertility.
  • Know about the several publications that demonstrate the benefits of Preimplantation Genetic Screening.
  • Find out how the Veriseq PGS, based on next-generation sequencing, gives accurate results on embryo aneuploidy screening.
