Alliance Global along with Illumina exhibited at the Tenth Conference of the African Society of Genetics (AfSHG). The event is a partnership between the H3Africa Consortium, The National Society of Human Genetics in Egypt and AfSHG. The event was held in Cairo Egypt from the 16th- 18th of November.
One of the many aims of the event is to develop Human Genetics and Genomics in Africa, hence the theme this year is: Human Genetics and genomics in Africa – Challenges for both rare and common genetic disorders.
A major goal of the society is the organization of a series of annual workshops and meetings in various parts of Africa. A line up of excellent African, Egyptian and International speakers had been invited to highlight cutting edge human genetic research in the global arena.
Cerissa French– Genotyping Sales Specialist from Illumina represented us at this illustrous event with her successful talk on “Next generation tools for Epigenetics; from genome wide analysis to targeted solutions“. Illumina sequencing and array technologies fuel advancements in life science research, translational and consumer genomics, and molecular diagnostics.
The African Society of Human Genetics is a forum for scientists interested in Human Genetics in Africa to meet, interact, network and collaborate. The Society’s aim is to equip the African scientific community and policymakers with the information and practical knowledge they need to contribute to the field of genetics research and to attract global attention to the efforts of African scientists.
