Dr Marco Magistri received his bachelor and master degrees in biotechnology from the University of Eastern Piedmont in Italy and his PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. During his graduate studies Dr. Magistri became interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms by which long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) regulate chromatin remodeling and epigenetic states in cancer. He then moved to the University of Miami to join the laboratory of Dr. Claes Wahlestedt, one of the pioneers in studying long noncoding RNAs in central nervous system. Currently Dr. Magistri is a member of Dr. Izidore Lossos’ lab where he is studying the role of lncRNAs in B cell development and lymphomagenesis
